The advertisements for “Devil”, a thriller taking place in an elevator full of people, one of which is supposedly the devil, looked great. The actual film was the opposite.
I’m not the biggest M. Night Shyamalan fan in the world, but after seeing his “The Happening”, I have to say that I was intrigued when I saw the preview for “Devil”. However, as I failed to research this film, it turns out that only the story was his idea and he did not write or direct the movie.
Do yourself a favor and do not watch this movie. On second thought, if you are reading blogs about movies you probably did not want to see this movie anyway. Nevertheless, I was severely disappointed and learned an important lesson: Don’t judge a movie by its trailer.
When in doubt, check it out
Even though I disliked this film, I would like to make a case for bad movies. Sometimes a movie is so ridiculous and terribly written that it can provide a fun night with friends. Meeting for a few drinks beforehand, sharing jokes, and seeing a tastefully bad movie can be a lot of fun. Next time you are in line to buy tickets, don’t be discouraged by the long list of bad films, just be sure that you know it is a bad film beforehand.
In short, don’t see “Devil”, but only if you expect it to be good. If you enjoy making fun of movies and making jokes with friends, this could be the movie for you!
Music and film are very entertaining and enjoyable parts of life. When you listen to your favorite song or watch your favorite movie, there is more going on than just entertainment.
This blog will cover all aspects of music and film. Everything from album reviews to movie suggestions will be covered in order to establish an entertaining, informative, and in-depth overview of these brilliant industries.
Music and film are not just pointless ways of entertaining ourselves for fun. They reflect our mark in history! Not everyone on the planet can describe detailed political issues going on in the 60s, yet millions of people can sing the lyrics of songs like “Hey Jude”, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, or “Respect”. Movies and music are fascinating! I personally love both and am excited to share with you my thoughts on the two.
If you are not sure which album to buy or which film to rent, simply go online and read this blog for suggestions
This blog will also cover music IN film, concerts, and individual artists. Who is playing what where, who is shooting which film at which studio, and why you need to know! I think the beautiful thing about music and film is that you can take risks with no negative outcomes. If you don’t like a certain song, change it! If you are bored by certain movies, come to this blog and see which ones suit my fancy, or which ones don’t!
It is also highly encouraged to share your opinion about what I write. If you have something to add to an album or film review, feel free.
